“Live life like it’s golden.” What does this mean?

To live life like it’s golden means to live life to it’s fullest. One first has to have the perspective that life is a gift. Life is priceless and it is precious. Only then with this viewpoint on life can one begin to lead a life that is so rich and so productive. Such individuals are optimists. They will look for the silver lining under gray clouds, they will make the best of a situations. Such individuals are motivated and have the tendency to look at the bigger picture of things. Such individuals are driven by a purpose for their existence. They also have a checklist of dreams and aspirations. “A man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.” What does this entail?

“A man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore.”A person will only remain stagnant if she does not learn to take risks. In order to be productive, one cannot expect to accomplish or experience new or better things if they are not willing to take risks. There are a series of steps anyone can follow to be successful in this area. First, a person has to possess a willingness and a desire for change. Second, it is necessary for that individual to have a visual focal point become the object of her desire. This visual focal point would then create a drive within that individual and she will then become motivated to venture out from her immediate situation. Finally, painstaking efforts will then be demonstrated in progressions and such individuals will then be driven to reach the object of their desire.

The Last Moral Dilemma I Encountered

While unloading some groceries from a shopping cart into the trunk of a car, I discovered a pocket-sized box of pure vanilla extract that wasn’t included in my purchase. It had been indiscreetly tucked in between the grocery bags. For some reason this insignificant item had been accidentally overlooked. My initial reaction was wow I can’t believe that the alarm didn’t go off. My final reaction was well we are in a recession. As I stood in the parking pondering this dilemma, I finally resolved the issue by reasoning that Walmart needed to credit me for some things that were previously purchased but wasn’t reimbursed to me because I misplaced the receipts. I then resumed loading the bags into the car, feeling justifiably at ease about that the matter that it was an even exchange.

There are some regrets I have.

Sometimes there are certain people you wish you never associated with at all. There were a couple of past relationships I truly regret ever coming into existence. I think more often than not I was very gullible in certain situations and too giving.
If I could go back at those points in time I would have certainly exercised wisdom and used better judgement. Yet, as the saying goes wisdom comes through experience. How I am suppose to better detect an idiot unless I were to come across one? How can I safeguard myself against a jerk if I’ve never encountered any?

A Comparison between my view of life and when I first began college with my view of life now.

My main focus when I first began college was establishing independence away from my parents. Back then I expected life to be smooth sailing because I was so accustomed to living a sheltered and spoiled life. I clearly had no idea what I was in for and during my early years in college I had one rude awakening. Looking back, I now appreciate the hard lessons I learned from the choices I made. And that’s all they were – choices-if I had the opportunity to re live that part of my life all over again, there probably wouldn’t be that many changes I would make. One of the things that I learned is that one’s experiences can either make or break a person. I choose to use my experiences as stepping stones in pursuit of my dreams. Now, I view life much more seriously.
